13910 Skyline Drive
http://www.nationaltownwatch.org/nno/

Come meet your neighbors and talk to our local police, firemen, and EMS.

CTCA will provide chips & dip, soda & water. BYOB.

Invite your neighbors - everyone is welcome, not just members!

Thanks to Melissa Harris for obtaining a copy of the County’s right of way regulations and set back requirements. People are putting rocks and other objects in the right of way that restrict vehicular movement on the street. This could be extremely hazardous in the case of an emergency evacuation of the neighborhood being ordered as a result of fire. A copy of the Order of the Travis County Commissioners Court relating to Objects Within Right-of-Way can be found here. ( will open in a new window)

or copy and past this:

I wanted to keep you all informed on the latest developments regarding the opening of Grandview Hills Elementary school, which will be our assigned elementary as of the Fall of 2007. We have a wonderful principal in place who is actively hiring teachers and staff, and a very dynamic PTA board ready to work with volunteers and the community. GVHE is scheduled to contain a school-wide Primary Years Program as an International Baccalaureate http://www.ibo.org/ school, an exciting first for LISD. We have an enthusiastic group of parents ready to make GVHE a first-class elementary.

Regarding the environmental testing being conducted at the construction site. It has been completed and Weston, the contracted agency, presented their final report to the LISD board last night. I was there and the results were very encouraging. With a few recommended actions completed by the district in the final contruction process, I feel confident that we are going to have a very safe place for our children. For more detailed information, please visit www.gvhe.org.

Finally - don’t forget to vote in the current school board election. I would encourage you all to study the issues and vote your conscience.  For more information, look at www.gvhe.org and click on Election Information, or go directly with this link http://gvhe.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=22&Itemid=2 for links to election info, voting dates, times and locations and more.

Looking forward to a safe, productive learning environment for our neighborhood elementary children.

What has that drilling rig been doing over on Oasis Bluff? It is part of The City of Austin’s water treatment plant number four project.

WTP4 Map
From that site:
The WTP 4 project began back in the 1970s with the original site being selected and purchased in the mid 1980s. The plant will consist of water treatment facilities, a raw water intake and tunnel, pump stations, and pipelines to get water from Lake Travis through the plant and into the water system.

The Austin City Council has directed the Austin Water Utility to move forward on the design, engineering, and construction of a new 300 Million Gallons per Day (MGD) water treatment plant on the original site near Lake Travis to provide customers with potable water.

I was contacted by one of the companies involved.

Our firm is trying to set up presentations to interested organizations
regarding Water Treatment Plant #4. What would be the best mailing address
to send correspondence to? I have email addresses from your site which
will be very helpful, but would like to send information such as the
project newsletter via regular mail, too. Thanks!
